We've got the most over-rated game thread www.mywii.com.au/ and it got me thinking what game do you think is the most under-rated?

Mario Sunshine got a bit of a bad wrap for living up to its high expectations but I thought it was one of the gamecube's best games and so was Viewtiful Joe which lost its exclusivity because it didn't sell. Also Viva Piñata has now become the free Xbox 360 bundle game because it didn't sell when it is actually quite a good title.

I'd say from recent memory Deathrow on the Xbox. Its like 3D Speedball and had some terrific multiplayer options. It was a bit demanding and a tad repetitive but with the right crowd was a blast.
And I always thought X-Wing was a shade better than Tie Fighter, even though the latter title is usually the one that gets a mention on top 100 games lists.

yea i know some people hate it (Shadowfan1)
but i like it, i think it is one of the best Mario games for the nintendo gamecube.

Just to qualify, BG&E is a great game, I own it, shall forever and lament the lack of a sequel and all that stuff but I wonder if it can still be technically regarded as over rated now. It has had its praises sung from more internet rooftops than can be mentioned since its release.
Undersold is probably a more accurate definition of BG&Es sad fortunes.

That's a good pick. By Michel Ancel, the same designer as Beyond Good & Evil (that's three), funnily enough. He also made the anti-climactic but interesting King Kong movie game and chucked in some ideas for the superb Prince of Persia Sands of Time.

Soldier of Fortune 2 - People never look past the violence of SOF2. This was an exceptional shooter

Command & Conquer: Tiberian Sun - WHY do people hate this? Its MILES more fun than Tiberian Wars

Grand Theft Auto - The first game is the best, most of the people who rave on about the newer ones haven't even played it!

Day of Defeat - Hugely fun WW2 shooter with nearly everyone playing it being 18 or over. (I'm glad of that actually if it had all the young wankers that CS does it would be ruined by them)

Guild Wars - As a huge fan of this game I feel its hugely underrated. People just think its a WoW wannabe and people only play it because its free. Wrongo, its way different to WoW and I think they've done something amazing by making this appealing to the casual and hardcore gamer alike. It also has a huge amount to do and an insane amount of skill combinations and options. Love it!

I just don't like downloading heaps of stuff every time u want to play my bandwidth has its limits.

Rayman Raving Rabbids was NOT underrated. It's a great party game, sure, but the original Rayman games were much more underrated. Rayman 1, 2 and 3, they were truly great platformers. What was Ubi thinking, releasing RRR >_<
