I don't think the Wiimote is good enough for that, unless they just made it with the D-pad and buttons, not the pointer. I've tried to sit on my bed and flick through some Youtube vids on the Wii and you have to move forward to be in the range.

Do the same thing with my DVD player and 360 anyway.

Yeah the range on th IR pointer is pretty weak, I can't even kick back on my couch and play a game that requires pointing at the screen.

Besides like mentioned in previous posts most people have more than one DVD player that do the job fine, the Wii plays games plain and simple leave it at that.

Nup no use for a DVD player in my Wii.. Nintendo made it as a pure games console, that's what it is. Some may want it but if they want to shell out extra for a DVD playing Wii then thats cool, but people who already have multiple DVD players in their house don't want to pay more for something they already have.
