Wii Software \ Game Idea: Lawn Bowls

I was watching TV today and flicking through the channels, and I came across the lawn bowls. An Australian bloke was playing some guy from Swaziland, and sadly, the Australian bloke got spanked pretty hard. But it made me think.

Last night I was playing bowling on Wii Sports. If ten pin bowling can be done so well, I'm sure lawn bowls could be made into a game too. You might say "Errr lawn bowls is for old farts" etc. But be honest, at some point you've thought that might be fun to have a go at.

And a new initiative being started at some nursing homes involves getting the old folks to play wii sports. It helps get them moving, thinking and playing in the comfort of their own residence where some people might not be healthy enough to go on a field trip down to their local ten pin bowling centre.

So what do you think? Is there a market for my RADICAL and INCREDIBLE and EXCITING game idea?

To tell you first hand, I deal everyday with retired people from nursing homes and the rest of it, and I can tell these people don't play Wii, plus most of them are scared when it comes to any new technology, especially computers.

I dunno, i imagine lawn bowls on the wii wouldnt have cheap drinks and meals.

On a more serious note i think the controls would be hard to nail, i think getting the right power behind your throws would be difficult, maybe not though.

The action required in the game is much different from ten pin bowling as it relies on details like how close to the ground the ball is released and as mick8569 said, getting the right power behind shots would be no easy matter to reproduce. Very small incrememental differences can make your shot wildy different in out come and I'm not sure the controller is quite up to it.

Also there's the obvious matter of not sitting out in the sun, getting drunk and smoking far too much to contend with.
