Does anyone think that you will be able to use the wiimote while the classic controller is plugged into it as a separate controller?

I only have two remotes the possibility lies that my non wii friends and cousins will want to bask in SSBBrawl's glory and I don't want to go out and buy more wiimotes or gamecube controllers that I will never use.

Being able to use the wiimote while the classic controller is plugged into it would be a whole lot more convenient but will probably drain the battery twice as fast.

no you wont be able to use the classic controller sparately to the wiimote that its connected to, if you want to play with more players you're going to have to buy more controllers

How can you be sure? The Classic Controller from what I understand doesn't return any conflicting commands to the wiimote.

Can't you use the wiimote while its in the wiitar? And according to this:
www.wiili.org/

The wiitar is just a redesigned Classic controller. And of course, you can use the nunchuck while its plugged into the wiimote.

I don't think its a feature that can be counted out totally. I thinks its all up to the wii whether its capable of taking double the amount of commands from one wiimote and whether Smash Bros will allow it..

Dude we all know its compatible with the wiimote and classic controller. I'm just wondering if you'll be able to play with them as separate controllers while they're connected to each other.

if your want to use the classic control as a separate control to the wiimote that's its plugged into, it ain't gonna happen, once the control is plugged into the wiimote, that is one whole control

no because the classic controller and wiimote is detected as one controller .. move the cursor with the mote or move it with the classic analog stick... do u see the cursor split into two? similarly do u c ur buttons to automatically control different players?

I'm sure that will not be possible because nintendo would want you to buy more controllers and it would be uncomfortable to play like that and once a classic controller is pluged into wiimote 1 the whole set up is player 1's controller it can't be split into multiple players. If you really want to play muliplayer with only 2 controllers then you can play the tournament mode so you can play 2vs2 and pass the controller on

I think that the answer lies in the wrist strap.

Although it may seem relatively unlikely to many of us, it is entirely possible that two players having controllers tethered/connected could lead to trouble (i.e. damaging the wii-mote/classic controller) during the excitement that may ensue during gameplay

Nintendo is obviously quite aware of potential litigation (as seen with the wrist strap replacement and wii-jackets) and would not want their customers to risk harming themselves or damaging their equipment during gameplay. Players being tethered to each other would greatly increase this risk.

On top of this they would prefer it if you bought another wii-mote or two (and a classic controller... and another nun-chuck... and a wii zapper... and a balance board etc.)

first does brawl have support for classic cotroller because if it does it could work but how would you use the wii motion controls and there are less butons

its like using the nunchck as a second wimmote - won't work

With SSBB, you can either use the CC or the motion sensing of the wiimote with nunchuk, they've put thought into this as far as controller options go, with also being able to use the GC controller

It'd be nice if you could use wiimote in tandem with classic controller attachted but the wii only recognises it as one controller input, that and the cord isn't long enough to really make full benefit.

I'd say it COULD be done. Wether the developers WANT to is another matter. It all depends on how they code the game. Probably not, as mentioned above, Nintendo would want more controller sales, and yeah there might be a safety issue as well.

gee guys its gettin steamy in here.
None of us really know so why don't we just wait and see when it comes out.

Both sides have good arguements as to why and why it shouldn't work but I am sure when the reviews and tests come out we will be able to remove all doubt then.

simple solution to your dilemma is don't buy ssbb then you cousins/friends wont want to come over to play it
