I was playing FIFA08, while I really only listen to the commentators I had some pretty Hard Metal going on in the background and I was playing faster, doing all the right passes etc.... Instead of losing like I normally do (not so so bad, record of 104 loses to 92 wins), I've just won 6 games in a row.

I found the same for checkers actually. While I don't lose many on this game anyway, I tend to like to listen to trance for this however the music is more direct as I don't like to listen to anything people have to say via their mic's anyway.

Personally, I find in-game music to be a little annoying when it doesn't fit. EA games are the classic company who like to do this. The newer Burnout games (Burnout 3 onwards - produced by EA Games), I end up muting the music, so I can enjoy the engine noises from the car you use to race.

Ambient music is ok, like in Call of Duty, where it emphasises the emotion or mood of that particular scene. Mario, of course I always love music from any Mario game, especially when there is a remix of the classic tunes.

Yeah I turn off the music so that I can actually feel the game... But I love the Soundtrack in NBA live 08 because it mimics a real game (just little tiny snippits of music after a point, thats cool and gotta love the echo from the stadium)

Agree with you there Phat when it comes to Mario. Never bothered with Burnout so I would not know. When playing online with FIFA08 there isn't any music, not in the actual game anyway, just while it connects. Just had another game of FIFA08 and won again so that is 7 in a row now - Could just be the opponents I'm playing to, lol. Nah I can still tell the difference in how I am playing compared so I know it isn't that.

I can't play a game so quiet either way. It's seems we are different there Anni. I've muted music before and I lose my concentration completely. I think I get bored and just say oh stuff this.

If the music goes well with the game, then yeah. But if it deosn't then i'll just turn the music off since it's making me lose concentration.

Depends on the music. Good music can help me play better but bad music can really through me off my game

I am now getting cranky though, is that the music or the people that keep disconnecting when I score the first goal? Ahhh annoying - They still lose so I am happy enough

I just would like to see my replay of the goal!

I'm just playing Tetris on my ds (yes, I'm fully aware of what a dill I am for playing the soul stealing evil game, but I'm only 29 million points from the highest score you can get!..no, I'm not addicted damn it!) Aaaanyway, I find that I don't play as well when the music is turned down. The music changes at every level, there's this really fast panicy music and it always makes me freak out and think I'm about to lose when it comes up, even if I know I'm doing okay.

It's not that surprising really. Music is magical in that it has a way of effecting your mood. Try playing different games to different types of music and see how it effects your gameplay!

Lol. No, that's a first actually!

Barbie girl? Am I thinking of the same song that you are? Surely there is only one song.. "I'm a barbie girl..in a barbie world.." Is that it? Makes you want to go to bed? Funny, it makes me want to find the closest bridge and jump off

While playing a FPS games i would usually chuck on trance tracks and somtimes when im playing games that sounds to have good music with the game i would listen too, but as for Burnout i just love listening to the engines instead of the music otherwise it makes me crash even more. lol
