you need to get an LG DVD :

With the Wiikey yeah it's very simple.
You'll need an SD card (2GB is the sweet spot) I think the Wiikey can now support larger ones not 100% sure.

Also need an SD gecko, ozmodchips sell them.

i preserve my wii for playin ;-) but yeah you can use your console as well but going on the LG path is a bit cheap in the long run if you're going to do backup a lot
