nah its a vista bug. It doesnt let you choose the right resolution for some screens. such as plasma which is only something like 768x??? i cant remember

I had that problem when I first installed Vista.

I recommend first to update your graphics drivers with the latest ones available. I swear this question had been posted before, and I had the same answer, but I can't find the forum...

1366x768, you mean? What an oversight; it's a very, very common widescreen resolution.

Just do what I do and run 1280x768.

Well, when I had the problem, it wouldn't show 1600x1200 for me. Then eventually it did when I played with the different resolutions available.

Does your video card support it? Does your TV support it as an input resolution? That's probably the thing. You can always set it as a custom resolution.

yeah mate i been bugging you guys for a while with this one ive tried changing the resolution does me no good, i have the most updated drivers i think ?

I reckon your problem has something to do with Windows Vista so go on the hp site and punch in your laptop model and hopefully it has Vista drivers.

yeh honestly apart from my screen problems with the plasma (which is more likely nvidia's problem) vista is way better. my laptop has never run faster.

Holy crap. That's crazy.

The only bone I have to pick with Vista, or maybe Creative, is the fact there are no stable drivers for my Audigy 2 ZS soundcard. Vista won't even save my preferences for treble/bass. Grr...

Try right clicking on the formatsd.bat file, then click on "Run As Administrator". That should do the trick.
