But if you own the original disc you are able to run it fine as the chip doesn't turn on for original discs. Someone will figure it out before the actual release date. It will just be a firmware update of such. I intend to buy a copy anyway. I am getting rid of all my backups as most of them suck. I am only getting the good games now. The wii has turned out to be really disappointing apart from a handful of games.

Yes maybe you might be correct. But when there are so many forums on this topic out there, with everyone saying all sorts of things, makes it kind of hard to believe who's right.

Super Mario Galaxy + D2CKey = True! - 2007-10-29

Various sites are reporting that backups of Super Mario Galaxy are working with D2CKey, but not with any other modchips! We have tested a backup of the USA version of SMG and can confirm that it does in fact work on the USA NTSC Wii with D2CKey. The USA version of SMG will not work on other region consoles, but we are confident that backups of other region versions of the game will work on other region consoles. We will post more news about this as soon as we can obtain original game discs from the other regions to test.

As you can see the guy who's playing it seems to have a German/French (I'm not too sure) i.e PAL Wii. Oh & he has the D2CKey too.

It was nice to see a bit of how the game plays.
