Wii Hardware \ wii broke.

Well after a nice session of zelda today my wii has thrown in the towel. When I press eject or power on, it boots for a second and then instantly turns off, seemingly losing power. I've unplugged and replugged and no fix.

ITS SATURDAY AND CUSTOMER SUPPORT DOESNT OPEN TILL MONDAY!!

oh man that sucks, hope you can get it fixed soon or preferably replaced seeing as Mildura isn't on any conventional mail run (kidding). Try to exchange it where you got it, but be aware that a lot of places will try to fob you off to the manufacturer instead of doing it themselves.

Total bummer! Hopefully is a rare case. Nintendo is pretty good with their hardware. There were hardly any reports on their consoles malfunctioning (PS2, PS3, etc..). Never heard N64 faulty, Gamecube faulty...So it must be rare...

Hmm this is strange, I unplugged the power supply from the wii and after half hour retried with success!
It states in the manual that if it fails to turn on you should unplug the power for two minutes. Any idea on why?
I'm still considering taking up the warranty in case this occurs in future but am wondering if this is something normal that occurs with hardware.

when i did my first update it locked up....i turned it off and on at the console to no avail. only after i unplugged it entirely for a minute or so did it start working again. its been sweet as since then. sweeeeeeeeet aaaaaassssss.
