Is Red Steel worth paying $44 for? At the moment Big W have a deal, 2 for 88, and Red Steel is on that list. I'm wondering... I've heard that the game play is quite repetitive but for $44 can I go wrong?

I'd say it's worth a buy. The multiplayer is fun when you have 4 players, and the single player levels arn't bad at all, not really repetitive. I still wish it was longer, and there are some issues with the crosshair jerking around on its own, but it can be fixed if you turn off rumble and the speaker on your Wiimote.

Still, if you're looking for a great Wii FPS experience, Metroid Prime 3 is the better way to go.

Basically it's setup in sequences. Probably 2 or 3 times each level there is a sword fight. All the other times it's a gun battle.

In that whole 2 for $88, I would recommend Red Steel being on of them, since the others are pretty crappy.

Man that is wrong wrong wrong. I had Red Steel for 3 days after launch before i took it back in disgust and swapped it for the 1 game i have played way more than any other Wii game: Tony Hawk Downhill Jam. The sword fighting scenes in Red Steel are gimmicky at best and it's not worth it for that.

I'm now the proud owner of both Red Steel and NFS: Carbon. The guy at EB was not impressed with the 2 for $88 deal from Big W. My only regret is that I'd rather support Big W but they had no titles left.
