Social \ XBOX 360 CORE now as cheap as a Wii

It now only costs $399.95, which puts it squarely right on the Wii's price bracket.

I don't know if this will affect the sales figures, but the price is very tempting, i may get a second console.

the 360 is definately a greeat console. i picked one up on saturday and i can highly recommend. though you might want to get the premium. the hdd will be required soon if you want to play upcoming MMO's. the games on the 360 are fantastic, Gears of War is a real masterpeice as far as graphic style and innovation in gameplay.

Also, the upcoming release schedule for the christmas period on 360 has the best lineup out of any console.

Damn straight, Rerun! - The only reason M$ has dropped the price of the core system is that it's not selling. They think price parity with the Wii will fool ignorant consumers into buying it.

But they are all saying don't buy the CORE coz it's crap. are you worried? as far as i can see, the only difference are hard disk, casing, and wireless controllers. the main guts should still be the same. so the premium has no significant design or component advantages to the core. am i talking nonsense?

Yeah Rerun, forgot about the heatsinks. Looks like CORE owners will more likely experience the overheating problems and the the red ring of death.

buy the premium guys, and make sure it has the new heatsinks.

you can check if you have the new heatsink by looking through the mesh underneath.

apparently if you send your 360 in for warranty repairs, Microsoft replaces the old heatsink with the new one.
