Wii Hardware \ News & Sport Channels - What's the Go?

My news and weather (not sport, my bad) channels come up with this message:

"You must perform a Wii System Update to use this channel.

You cannot use this channel until service begins."

I've done the system update twice already so it can't be that.

Is the service being delayed here? Coz I know they have it in other countries.
