Wii Software \ Mario Party 8 Question

Just got me Mario Party 8. Question - How come it doesn't display in Widescreen? its only in 4:3 on my Widescreen LCD so I have black borders on either side. Also it doesn't display in 480p. Am I doing something wrong?? I have component cable and everything.

Anyone know?

Mario Party 8 is a noteworthy arrival on Wii because it marks the first Nintendo-published project that does not run in 16:9 widescreen mode. To our knowledge, this hasn't happened since the days of GameCube and quite possibly with the previous Mario Party outing. To its credit though, the game's title screen and main menu both run in full widescreen, but as soon as any sort of gameplay begins, everything transpires in 4:3 with superimposed bars. Good stuff, and by that we mean just the opposite.

edit: It should also say on the box if its HDTV compatible shouldnt it?

Yeah i have the Same Problem Apparently thats the way it has to be

if you watch a Review by GT They will always name the Widescreen Issue...

Same works just fine on my tv. I hate those borders though. Im forever worrying about them burning into my plasma.

I brought it yesterday and noticed on the cover it had the little pic for the nunchucks on the back, I didn't think it would use the nunchuck so I asked EB and he said said it needs the nunchucks. So I brought 3 of the damn things. I've spent about 2 hours playing, but it doesn't appear to need the nunchuck. I've looked through the instructions and can't see any mention of them either. Is it just me, or does the game not require the nunchuck??

I think it was probably the luck of the draw when it was selecting the mini games that it didn't land on one with nunchuck. Look on the back of the box, does it have a number in the nunchuck or only on the Wiimote (4)?

Hmm. I think EB games had you pinned. I think you should take back the extra nunchucks if you don't need them for anything else. I think what it means is that you could use the nunchuck (just 1, not 4) for certain games. Funny, I'll have to have a look this afternoon myself to see what it's compatible with.

Yup, you're correct.
The only thing you need the nunchuck accessory in the game, is to play an extra mini-game on the side.
