The only reason it was any good in double dash was so that you could switch between players and be able to have two 'sets' of items. The multiplayer was crap, when you'd have two players to a kart, kinda pointless.

It will be interesting to see what they do with the items. Will certain items be specific to each character? Or will it be a free-for-all? I'd like it if every character had access to all the items like the old Mario Karts. And I hope they bring back the leaf!

Oh how i wish they do that.

I like double dash the most out of them all... Having 2 sets of weapons was a great idea i thought.

I agree with you,double dash was very fun but sometimes you feel a bit one for mario kart.

well there's always one negative amongst a million postives, and if you look closely it's nothing like double dash, and it has tracks from the ds version, and who really cares if you have had enough of mario kart, i know i don't

You just have to wait and see.
After a couple of movies and a guy talking a little about the game ya cant really fully tell what the game is going to be like.
but thats cool if Mario Kart just is not your thing

I agree, they didn't really show us much about it but keep in mind that this is still in development, and it is still quite a ways away from being released. What we saw at E3 was just a taste, something for them to throw at us that we weren't expecting, just be glad that anything at all was said about it. I'm sure they have a few more things up their sleeves yet.

I love the fact that it will have battlemode online. I just hope they throw a whole heap of tracks at us, not just four. This goes the same for the race tracks, and I actually hope they go back to having five tracks per cup, four just isn't enough.

As for the wheel, well I'm not so sure about it either, but Reggie did say that there will be a variety of control methods including the Wii Wheel, so expect a varied control scheme like SSBB.

I know this will be good no matter what they do with it, even just the fact that it is online and there will be more than the usual eight karts per race is enough to keep my interest up for a while.

Sure, you don't have to have people in the room with you, but are we going to see in a few years: "Mario Kart Wii was the first mario kart with online play. However, it was criticised for featuring little in the way of new gameplay elements."?
