Wi-Fi is another name for IEEE 802.11 - which is the chip that wireless uses.

Xbox Live is a user interface within the system that uses wireless to connect to the Xbox Servers.

Yes, get a 360. But don't take my word on it. I'm just anti-Sony because of all the crap they've done over the years.

Plus more games on 360.

So what else do you need to make a decision seeing that both hardware are comparable? The price of the console, and how good the games are. 360 is around half the price of the PS3, leaves you lots of extra to buy games.

My choice - Xbox 360. For the moment, that is.

the trick is to buy what you want, whatever will make you happy. if you are satisfied with your purchase then that is all that matters mate! btw i love FF too but i won't get a PS3 until the price drops down.

You want more depth? Then here it is;

The Playstation 3 was released with ALOT of shortages. It has also had barely any games when released. The Xbox 360, has been out quite a while now so they have a greater range of games.

The 360 doesn't cost 900 dollars either.

The 360 includes a much friendlier menu rather than the XMB (Cross Menu Bar) which the PS3 uses. The PS3's control scheme is exactly the same since the PS1 except for the fact its lighter.

The PS3 also includes a Cell Processor which has been claimed to be very hard to programme for.

Sony has also been known to add trojans/virus' in their software. Even with the PS3, they made up a "fan-site" and put on a PSP bricker.

"Yeah but the 360 is alot about shooters thats all i constantly see today... " - The only games the PS3 has is World War II combat and Karaoke.

Notice with the PS3 only 30 or so are out.

It's not worth getting a PS3 until -

a) It has more games.
b) It proves it self.
c) Blu-Ray populates.
d) The price comes down.

Until then, get a 360.

$1500 gets you a very high end computer these days. Fork out a few hundred every two years to upgrade your graphics card and you can play all the newer games at full quality or close to it easily. Easily better value for a PC than for a console.

And for you people who like multiplayer? PC online multiplayer owns all, and it's free.

Do you notice the resolution? Think about it, depending on your TV it = 0.

As for Blu-Ray movies, they don't have an upper hand at the moment, they are also more expencive than DVD's.

Homeworld particularly rocked my boxx0rz.

Also: Max Payne, Fallout, System Shock, Deus Ex, Total Annihilation, the Master of Orion series, DOS games and text adventures. All boxx0r-rocking, and, if I remember correctly, never appeared on a console.

Desi it's not ps3,360 OR PC.

I rent the blu-ray moving from Video Ezy - usually $6.50 overnight which is pretty good. Quality is brilliant, so much better then DVD if you have a good TV. I use an LCD projector for a 110inch screen so I notice it.

Blu-ray is more popular then HD-DVD (you can hardly get any movies on HD-DVD and therefore it totally sucks that you can not get a blu-ray attachment for the xbox 360). PS3 will still be an awesome and useful machine for the next 10 years (I don't think this can be said for the xbox 360).

I like the fact that Sony are bringing out cheap (about $13) little games in HD - I don't have time for big RPG. They are better than the low resolution classics (which I have played in the past) on the wii for about the same price.

I own a wii (aswell as PS3) but I am getting a bit bored of it.

Actually, it is now!

You guys are saying 360 is better. The 360 is going very well in terms of exclusives (and yes, these exclusives will probably appear on PC also), and has a lot of current and planned software. I'm saying the PC will get most (if not all) newer 360 games anyway, with the advantages of better graphics, better online multiplayer and internet-distributed free modifications and content.

So why cripple your gameplay experience by buying a 360 and not a PC? Dante is (or his parents are) obviously considering spending $1000 or so on a PS3, he may as well just put a few extra hundred on top of that and invest in a PC. Besides, PCs do more than play games — and they do it well to boot.
