Incorrect, sir. Manhunt is a survival game much like Resident Evil but with stealth elements and a VERY macabre outlook.
In the original, you have to kill gang members (hired by the director) to survive through the night. If you make it til dawn, you're a free man...so says the Director.

I don't see it like a pointless murdering spree as much as I see it was a very gorey Metal Gear Solid type. Solid story, genuine characters and vigorous gameplay. The grissly factor is really up to the player to decide (since there are 3 levels of deaths you can opt for...mild, medium and hardcore). After all...the gang members you face in the game practically are monsters. Psychotic monsters just chasing you down for the thrill of the kill.
