Wii Software \ Wii on Wi-Fi

We all know Wii has its Wi-fi meaning wireless internet connection but how strong is this to the Wiis reputation when it comes to online gaming.
I have compiled this list of all the games I know to be released with Wi-fi online play:
*Mario Strikers Football
*Pokemon Battle Revolution
*BWII: Battalion Wars 2
*Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games
*Guitar Hero 3
*Super Smash Bros Brawl
*Forever Blue

Apart from the few smash titles SSBB, Pokemon, and maybe the two mario titles how confident are Wii owners that developers out there feel there is a strong enough market for Wii online play?
Maybe they are playing it safe and are waiting for the first few titles to be released to see how they go or maybe they feel that Nintendo hasn't done much in the way of advertising the Wii for online play that money is best spent elsewhere.
As far as I know this will be a first for Nintendo with online play and I am not sure that there is enough being done to highlight this as a strong point let alone a standard feature of the Wii.
So far everytime I show one of my friends the internet in my lounge and tell them I am surfing via my Wii they never even knew it could go online in the first place.
I am interested in peoples views and please be serious either you support the Wii Wi-fi or if not and you are critical about the online play capabilities please make it constructive I wan to know what you think the weak points are. <

This has got me really excited about the Wii online and I'm dreaming of the possibilities. Trust me, we haven't heard of the majority of games that will be online. Nintendo seem to be trying to keep the first online titles as first party, but as soon as it gets going most people that own a Wii are going to want to play online, and that's a heck of a lot of people. Developers know this and they are planning for it.

About the fact of what Nintendo will do to store all this online content. As I said, SD cards can be quite expensive thereby squashing the (hopefully) cheaper online games. And you're right, an external hard drive just isn't suited to the compactness of the Wii. There is no room for add ons, it would have to stand seperate making the Wii a 'multiple' device. I already have a docking station and I'm not that interested in having another add on turning the Wii into a mess of little white boxes. This worries me and I do wonder how they'll get around it.

i have had nothing but problems from wy wii being online and saying im to quick to judge is wrong your making threads that have all been made before just because you make them so long doesnt mean we havent seen them all before .
im not starting a flaming thing but am i not allowed to have my Opinion ?
after all there is no online games yet so how can we bag it out ?

Online play for the Wii is definately going to bring interest. It is a great feature and can add replay value for many games. I dont think it will ever be as big as Xbox Live. Friend codes to me are a real set back, and i think they will be extremely annoying.
