Wii Hardware \ playmax wii cooling stand!

I was a Target lookin around for a cd and i decided to take a quick look at the WII stuff. first thing that caught my eye was the nunchuk for $30 and now u can buy the remote without that gay game. for 50 or sumting. Then the next thing i saw was this cooling stand. its like the normal stand for the wii but its thicker. Its a cooling stand and sucks the air in. It was only $20 so i went and bought it and the nunchuk. I went home and set up the stand.
I set it all up and turned it on. its very quite and it pumps alot of air into the wii. i had the wii on for 49 hours straight (on and also on standby) and i felt the temperature and the wii wasnt hot at all. greatest 20 bucks ive spent. i reccomend it to anyone who is very weiry about their wii getting hot. i was and now i dont worry about it at all cause the cooler does a great job!

Yesit is the stand with the blue lights and the switch. it doesnt run all the time. it has three options. off, fan, fan&light. if u have the it on with or without the light, it runs all the time when it is on or it is on the orange standby. so you control when you want it on. i like running it for a while when it is on standby.

They're a big bright but I think it looks cool when playing.
They really do keep the console nice and cold it's great, I got mine from JB for $20.
Also got the Playmax docking station which is pretty good.

I own one myself - and the major benefit is that the rubber feet and heavier base does away with the clear plastic circle which is meant to keep the Wii from tipping over.

The lights are completely rice and unneccesary.

Yes, a gimmick. A Wii is not overclocked, nor does it have a monstrous GPU or CPU, so it really doesn't need more cooling than it already has. Unless you're packing it into a tight space, or keeping it in the sun, in which case you deserve to have your Wii melt.

that circle thing has 2 purpose's i think
1; to stop the wii tipping over
2; to lift the stand a little bit to allow air into the vent at bottom.
if you dont use circle thing the wii stand sits flat and the bottom vent is renderd usless(maybe a cause of some overheating)
thats what i thought anyway let me know if im right

I f you want to be extra careful then get a decent warranty I think for $400 you will get at least a couple of years and then you will have enough money to get it replaced my n64 is still working nintendo products are good quality and if it needed a cooling stand nintendo would have made one

Hells yeah.

Don't say that I’m likely to get bored one day and have a go at it. I tried to put a LED back light in my old GBA, didn't work, not enough room. Not to mention other mods I’ve done to other entertainment equipment I have.

But I don’t have enough room to stand my Wii up, so if they had something that it can sit in lying down I’d think about getting that (Or try making one!). But if you like it and think your Wii needs extra cooling get one. But I'll pass untill I hear word of Wii over heating.

not quiet true i found out my wii was stuffed due to power surge while updating and nintendo still gave me a new one they just said this time use a surge protecter

i agree. hey. it might not need the cooler but i just wanna b cafeful. i dont really care if u think its a waste of m0ney, its only $20 and it makes it easier 2 sleep at night knowin my wii wont ovaheat.
