Wii Software \ Resident Evil UC - why get excited?

Why???? This sounds lame. Why not just make a proper game?

Just because of the nature of the wii remotes it doesnt mean every game needs to have us pointing and waving a remote.

It just seems very lazy.

There is a chance that Umbrella Chronicles can be played by more than a single person. Asked about a multiplayer mode, the producer responded: "We're still looking into it so I really can't say anything definite right now."



all i can say is that if this was multi player i would... well lets just say it could get messy.


however i can understand those who are fans of the survival horror genre to be disappointed with this, but imo this is exactly what the wii should be about, simple fun games. bring on RE:UC, oorah!

At least take some solace at the fact that you can get RE5 for 360 like I'll be doing.

Edit:
I just had a thought - perhaps Capcom were using the PS3 and 360 as a vehicle to advance the story of Resident Evil since the nintendo had exclusive license to the story on the gamecube, and due to its poor sales, they gave up on wii.
Remember the news story the other day about the reason we have crap games is because developers backed the wrong horse (PS3)
I have a theory that it'll swing around with those 3rd parties (EA, Ubisoft, etc) as well as the big Japan developers (Capcom, Namco, etc) since the sales figures are recent and games stay in development for years.

Who knows, we may see RE6 on nintendo wii???

Still, I think Umbrella Chronicles is a worthwhile purchase as it links the original games to number 4 (I cant remember if it links to 5 as well?)

RE is survial horror not action shooter, and yes it's already been made I'm fairly sure it's in post-production...

The time and effort put into this game could go part way to making a real resident evil game.

I think pokemon snap will be a scarier on rail shooter experience than this.

There could be something innovative within the game that obviously hasn't gone into depth yet.

Personally it looks like a "Pick your story" type game, selecting from RE1 / RE2 / RE3 / RE0 / etc.

Then you process through the whole general area, shooting at enemies, saving people, choosing different paths.
It would be a very entertaining 2 player game with 2 Motes, that would be fun.

Overall, so far, they should just create a Wii exclusive RE game, instead of this.
