My Wii is as good as bricked :-( freezes (locks up) within 10 mins of play every time since last week. I'm not sure what the problem could be, most likely will contact Nintendo if possible, i have tried cooling it with fans and elevating the Wii in case it was overheating with no avail. It has since then reset all the settings as if it was new again... console name, location etc

i havent got my nintendo bricked but if you have been reading the forums lately you would know that super paper mario NTSC will make your Ninteno wii as usefull as a brick if you try and play it on your PAL Nitendo Wii I believe it installs an update from the DVD from what i have read all you need to do is run a Wii system update before you play it i was simply asking the question if anyone has had problems with Nintendo

We just became aware of an issue with Super Paper Mario that has just been released in the USA. It works fine on US consoles. But if you want to play this game on a PAL or Japanese Wii, be it from an original disc or a backup, make sure you upgrade your Wii firmware to the latest available version before inserting the game.

The game contains an NTSC-U Wii update that is not compatible with early European and Japanese Wii firmwares. Failure to upgrade your Wii with the latest firmware before running Super Paper Mario USA on an import system can result in a bricked Wii.

This issue is not specific to CycloWiz, you'll have the same problem with any other region free mods/tricks. It doesn't brick the chip, but the Wii itself, so be very careful !

you need Firmware version: 2.2E

Unchipped Wiis can be bricked too. Early in Wii's life Wiis in North America were getting bricked by a faulty firmware update.

i went to america and baught super paper mario with me put it in as i did get a chipped installed to play it and yeah screwed it up and i didnt know anything about updating before i played it
so not it comes up with a white screen that sucks
anyone got just a console they want to sell
