"PlayStation 3 will finally be released in Australia on March 23 with over 30 games.

Only the $999 version of the PS3, which comes with a 60Gb hard drive, WiFi support and memory card inputs, will initially be available. The cheaper $829 version will be made available later in the year "dependent on demand".

I wouldnt get the cheaper version because you cant upgrade the harddrive like the xbox, so i would stick with the 60g one. plus the 60g one has a strip of crome on it which means your special.

Why would anyone pay $1200 - $1300 for a console with maby 2 controllers and a game or 2 ?? Also the whole Blue-Ray HD-DVD thing is still being fought, if you look at it from a historical point of view then HD-DVD has to win. Just like Betamax and VHS, Beta was far better quality like Blue-Ray but it died. It would be funny if Blue-Ray died and nobody with PS3's could play HD-DVD's. Its just too expensive and too much risk.

Add any number of games to that, and youll have a very light wallet. Would have to be one HELL of an awesome system to move fast off the shelves.
