I've never had any problems with the nunchuk at all. One of my wiimotes has a busted battery cover which is taped on at the top, but otherwise they seem great. I think the one that has the tape on it which has been damaged a little bit might be a little less responsive than the other one in mint condition cause it's been hurled into a wall accidentally. The wiimotes detect movement with microscopic springs, so i am wondering if those springs can be damaged through force.
