I'm not sure if the two aerials will make it 'better' then the one, but the difference between the two products seems to be one is 108mbps (624) and one is 54mbps. Compare the features...
The 624 doesn't appear to have two aerials...

it's all good, someone here should be able to help you out. Now, you're in the market for a wireless ADSL router? What do you intend to use it for? If you intend to stream media over your wireless network in the future, you might want to look at a 108mbps router (however there is no official standard for it yet, which means some cards may not work with some routers). If you're just looking at using it for internet/wii use, then 54mps will be adequate, and there is a standard so you can be guaranteed a router will work with a network card. You probably also want to make sure that it is ADSL2+ compatible, because slowly but surely, Telstra are rolling out upgrades to their networks for this sevice which will allow up to 24mbps per second peak....Thats good.

Sorry knightsfan, i may have gotten ahead of myself there. when i mentioned network card i was thinking in terms of using a router with a pc. So can you tell me if you are intending to use this wireless router solely for your wii or will you potentially use it with other devices (such as a pc)?

Yeah i guess it does, i just couldn't find a pic of it on the Dlink site. It seems any model with an M at the end of it might have two aerials. I had a Dlink I-624, worked well for 2 years roughly, then the adsl part of it died a terrible terrible death. i just use it for a 100mbps hub now. I've got a belkin at the moment, so far , so good, and thats working with the wii perfectly.

I just bought a D-link DI-524 for $98 from DSE, for the exact reason to get my wii connected. I am with telstra bigpond ADSL, the slowest ADSL connection you can get. It works fine. I am a novice too, but even I managed to get it working, within a couple of hours, couldn't believe the dust built up at the back of my pc!

Don't know what pirates advice is based on. Telstra and D-link DI-524 are a good enuff combo for me.

Just don't go into a telstra shop, the sales staff there will try to sign you up to their next-g network and tell you how inadequate and in need of a total upgrade you are, which of course is total BOLLOCKS!!

I use a DI-524 in my network (Wii and two personal computers), and the only time it drops out on me is when my Netcomm NB3 modem overheats (because of unforgivable design) and refuses to connect.

i use a DI-624S (the 108mbs one)... for a notebook and wii... and a real old d-link modem... goes well enuff...24 hour connection no drop outs... in a 2 bed apartment...
even works from the can...he he...if you were gaming from a pc/ notebook maybe its worth getting a gaming specific one... but other than that d-link works fine for me...

optus are shyte! especially if you want ADSL2+ and you are an existing customer... because they wont connect you even if your exchange is enabled unless you get INVITED!!! pffff... but if you call as a new customer they will... total rort... same if they have new cheaper (or more downloads) plans they wont tell you... think optus... think eb school of business....(thats the shameful eb's that is)...
