Netgear arent crap, ive found them to be pretty decent anyways.

It should be working fine.

You dont have MAC filtering enabled do you?
How far is the router away?
Can you connect any other PC's to your network wirelessly?

Well I can't get into the wireless settings, It just goes to my Netgear VPN firewall settings, and that has nothing about MAC filtering in there...

Make sure first that the wii can actually connect to another WAP or router...or firstly a laptop/PC can connect to this one....

Why cant you get into the settings? Maybe look for a firmware update if one is available.

Sounds like a mischevious router!

Ive got my MAC filtering enabled only for teh wii

Im also using channel 1 and havent had any issues

That's the thing.. the router isn't wireless, the WG602 is just an access point that tacks on to the router to give it wireless capabilities. The 'admin panel' IP for the access point stated in the manual doesn't seem to do anything in the web browser.

EDIT: I wonder how many people have fixed this problem just changing over to channel 1..

Try turning the firewall off and then connect, just to see if that is what it is.

Look in the status of your router and see if its actually making a connection with it.

Shouldnt the WAP have a different IP adress?

The WAP has a different IP address, but it doesn't show up as a connected device, it seems to work in the background or something :\ It was that IP we tried using to get into the WAP's settings, but with no luck.

Haha i bet it did mate, as did mine.

I got my router for cheap also, VOIP socket strait in the back of it, its great.

Its only because you have a WAP hanging off the side of it, its making things more complicated.

Yeah, it's a very strange setup. It definitely works though, laptop connects wirelessly. The WAP's settings page doesn't load with the given IP, and doesn't respond to ping, so maybe it's been changed from the default IP. Might have to bust out nmap and see where the hell it is..

There's only one ethernet (or any) port on the WAP which connects to the router, and the setup seems to be fine for the laptop so I suspect it's either a filtering problem or a channel problem. Just need to get into the damn WAP :\
