yeah i picked this game up shortly after getting my Wii mainly because it had received the 2nd best ratings from the review sites after zelda and after reading some reviews it sounded like fun.
Now i have it, i love it. After the SNES madden games i never really got back into the series, i love AFL so I wasn't much of an NFL fan. But this new Madden has got me totally hooked on NFL now. Aside form learning the rules and tactics as you play and watch NFL games on Wii and on the TV, the controls are just awesome.
Some of the controls are:
- Swing the Wiimote forward in a throwing action while pressing a direction on the d-pad or the A button to pass to a receiver
- Swing both Wiimote and Nunchuck upwards as if trying to catch the ball when you are a receiver attempting to make a catch.
- Push both Wiimote and Nunchuck forward in a fast motion to do a big hit or power move. When you have the ball you attempt slam into the defender and run through him, if you are a defender then you lay a big hit tackle which can injure the ball carrier or make him fumble (but only on occasion)
- Swing wiimote to the side when you have the ball to do a stiffarm, left stiffarms to the left and vice versa
- Swing nunchuck to the side to Juke/Sidestep a defender
There are heaps more moves than the ones listed here but justing using those is a heap of fun. I'm hanging out to finish work and go home and play some more.
