Wii Software \ Quite Enjoying "Call of Duty 3"

I'm quite enjoying "Call of Duty 3"; sank 4 hours into it on the weekend with my brother - neither of us noticed the time passing.

Initially the controls are a bit difficult to get a handle on, but also being a Wii-control noob doesn't help. It's interesting that all the reviews on meta-critic www.metacritic.com/ that are negative cite "bad controls" as a major problem.

After some practise, using the Wii'mote as a lightgun is fantastic. You have to be careful not to spin around quickly, which is confusing as the world spins too, but aiming the rifle (especially the sniper rifle, crouched behind a tree in the forest) is truly magnificent.

There's also some scenarios where you have to drive a car-like vehicle (the first being a jeep). To do this you hold both the Wii'mote and the nunchuck vertically like two sides of a steering wheel. It's very intuitive, and great fun, especially when something surprising makes you have to do a hard hand-brake left!

When I first played it, I was un-inspired, but with a bit of patience, now it's great. Crouching, aiming, popping-up out of the bush, shooting. Love it.

Thanks for the info in COD3, Ive been considering buying this one, now you have just talked me into it. Might wait a few weeks though, I just started playing Zelda, with is pretty cool.

I'm trying to squeeze in as much gaming as I can atm, as our 2nd baby is due any day and I go back to work at the end of the month.

I really enjoy playing games on the Wii, I am up most nights to all hours!

After the first level, there is a 2nd level, you didn't just turn it off after level 1 thinking it was complete now did you Mario64?

ROFL!. You think single player is short but you praise GoW for it's 15 hours of single player hahahahahaha. Don't even bring up Xbox Live. That 'service' is so full of preteen noobs calling you names and abusing you when you kill them, it's pathetic. It is only good for Xbox Live Arcade titles.
