A serious matter these illnesses are. I in fact suffer from motion sickness whenever I play a first person 3d game such as doom or metroid prime. I have no trouble with games that arent first person such as the zeldas. Was wondering if anyone else had trouble with this. Bellow is a web site that explains what happens when people experience motion sickness from first person video games.

Im 25 years old but have noticed this since I was around 16 when I played the first doom... it really hasnt gotten any better or worse since then. Its a shame ive had to pass on games like Half Life and Metriod Prime, which untill this title was my favourite series along with Zelda. As for the 20% i think that the minority would be people who do suffer from this and majority would be fine otherwise games would change.

Seeing as your more involved in the game, using the Wiimote as a gun/sword/whatever else they can think of, I think it will likely be worse, but I don't suffer very badly from it, so I don't really know. (I did, however, have a few incidents after playing Alien v Predator as the Alien for hours on end, of feeling an urge to climb up the walls, which lasted for a few hours after, and that's why I never drive after playing any of the GTA games

No its a non wii associated thing. Ive been getting it since pc doom and any other 3d first person game. Driving after playing GTA is more of an adrenaline thing.. but the sickness i experience is dubbed simulatior sickness. I also get sickness from flying and long car rides so it may be tied in with this. But i just cant play these games unfortunatelly for me.

As i suffer from none of the above mentioned difficulties I am more worried about the long term effects of video games, like eye damage and arthritus. I'm 23 and hope i live to be and old age and still have good enough hands and eyes to whoop every ones ass at goldeneye in the retirement home.

Ive always had motion sickness, as long as i dont sit too close to the screen im fine. It always is worse when i play fps's on the pc though.
