That doesn't sound very promising. Good thing it didn't hit your TV.

I still don't get it....... how did you let go of the remote? There's just no way i ever let go of mine... ever.... so no chance of destroying a WiiMote.

they gave me an envelope to send the old ones back. it was self addressed and stamped, but there was no return name printed on it. this leads me to believe that they aren't keeping track of returns, so i dont think they would miss em. I am going to keep em as spare ones. the funny thing is that the envelope was addressed to ATTN: Planning Department. read into that what you will

My guess is that 90% of the Wii's that came in the 2nd shipment during December will have the crappy thin strap. 10% will have the improved strap. The next shipment of Wii's should all come with the improved strap I reckon.

yeah, the wiimotes i've got are already fitted with the new strap.

if you want to check, the new one is 1mm thick, the old strap being 0.6mm thick.

but i can't imagine how these things break. surely one would grip onto the wiimote fairly snugly while playing? accidents happen i suppose.

Yes, I scratch my head at how people have accidents with their Wiimotes. I have gotten a bit carried away at times (i.e. tennis and baseball) but never once has the Wiimote left my hand.

I've got the old strap, but no problems whatsoever. I even let the Wiimote dangle from my wrist with the strap when I go to change discs or do other things.

Given enough distance and force, a flying Wiimote could go through a window pretty easily. People just need to know that using the Wiimote isn't like holding a real bat or bowling ball. I'll admit, I fell into that situation a day or two ago while playing Wii bowling. I let go of the Wiimote thinking it was an actual bowlong ball haha. Damn Nintendo for playing with my mind! Damn them!

Hold on to the friggin thing like you're SUPPOSED to and it won't happen. It's that simple really and i can't for the life of work out why so many people seem to have trouble grasping that concept. I mean does it get any easier than that?
