Wii Hardware \ A bug in the wii?

Last night me and my bro were playing the Sports game.

I used my remote to turn the console off. However, his controller satyed lit up and the screen went off.

I had to hold the power button of the wii for a bit to turn it off.

Does this mean that when two or more controllers are on that the wii must be turned off at the power and not by remote? Or was it a glitch?

Ive had two controllers connected before with no turning off issues. Must have just been a once off thing.

I've had that same problem when leaving the Photo channel to goto the Wii menu too, it just sat on a black screen and i had to power off the console.

I too have had the exact same problem. I think its a bit of a common problem actually, but really isn't that serious. Its just a matter of switching off then switching on again. And it never happens when you're in the middle of a game, only when going to the Wii menu.

I called nintendo aus and the next day my new replacment unit arrived. Excellent service
