Wii Software \ So Pissed Off with Virtual Console

OK, tell me if I'm doing something wrong but I can NOT get Donkey Kong Country to work with a GC controller.

On EVERY page is says you can use either a classic or GC controller, so I downloaded it in good faith but every time you run it it just says "You will need a Classic Controler. Connect one now."

I'm ropeable!

The trick is to NOT press the A button... I can't remember the button I pressed, but it was just a general mashing of the buttons (Excluding A)

ok, so i just tested it with the GC controller without my classic controller. I started DC without the classic controller connected to the wiimote. It spat up the message about plugging in the classic controller. I then plugged the GC controller into the first slot towards the front and it started just fine for me.

Sorry, but it works fine for me.

I was plugging into number 4, not 1. Of course they go left-to-right on the GC and right-to-left on the Wii. How logical!

press the home button on the wiimote and then select operations guide. you can see what buttons mean what - i dont know if you can change the configuration though

i would persist tonight and buy a classic controller tomorrow - $25 i think - i know it sucks, but you can then go wireless - i would recommend it for sure

yeah - its ok, but no master system (that was the classic sonic release). still waiting for alex kidd and wonderboy!!
