As part of our honeymoon in November we are going to disneyland for a couple of days & I was wondering if anyone here has been before & seen any restrictions on height or weight for adults ? My fiancee will be fine but Im fairly tall at 6ft3 & weigh more than your average person thats for sure so Im little worried that the whole experience could be ruined if I cant get on any rides. Ive been to the theme parks in Queensland & never had any problems besides a few rides being a bit tight for legroom. Ive done some research on google & it appears alot of rides now have been fixed to accommodate bigger people but id like to hear from people who have actually been to disneyland or disneyworld, have you seen bigger people enjoying the rides ? We are also going to Universal Studios so if anyone has had some experiences there Id like to hear about it, always wanted to go to a real theme park, cant wait.

Thanks to anyone who responds & if you could resist the urge to make nasty comments like "loose some weight fatty" it would be appreciated.

Ive placed this in social but if any admins feel this thread doesnt belong on mymedia then just lock it & delete.

So are those restrictions for height or weight ? Both ? I fully expect not to be able to ride everything but I just dont want to waste 2 days in lines only to find out I cant ride anything.

i am a theme park junkie, tho have never been to disneyland... the big problem for rides in the states is restraints that have been added by the parks themselves, as they all tend to have different ways of doing it... by addons i mean seat belts and extra catches to hook beyond the manufaturers restraints...

i too am a 'big fella' and going to say kings island in ohio (highly recommended!) i can ride everything no problems... one tight fit for the restraints on one ride but that is due to being big chested (muscles)...

Ceder point, also in ohio, has world class/record rides as well, but i cant ride any of them due to placement of add on restraints... if you are muscular like a wrestler, forget cedar point... they used to be a great park too... <sigh>

so sorry i cant say on disneyland, but i am sure if they do the add on restraints, they will have been done correctly and other than some snug fits for the tallness, u should be okay i'd say... unless you weigh 150+ kilos...

might try emailing them, i'm sure they might be able to tell you something...

good luck tho, and if you can ride em, enjoy em, and make the trip to ohio for kings island, it is worth the trip!

I can't say I've been to Disneyland in Cali but I'm going to Disneyworld in Florida in September I can let you know then.

I'm sure they do have restrictions though, most parks do. I'm sure you could check it out online.

I went to the DisneyLand one in Anaheim a few years ago. From memory, there weren't a whole lot of restrictions, and as malaka said, a LOT of Americans' are big people, or atleast they were when I was there....

Maybe you can try ringing them up?

Trust me you will be fine at both universal and Disneyland. I went on every ride so your height will not be an issue. THe only issue u might have is your width (sorry but i dont know how wide you are). I have problems in some rides with the width of my shoulders, like lethal weapon at Movie World on Gold Coast. But keep in mind I noticed many ppl way bigger than me. By the way go on Indiana Jones ride at Disneyland and buy a fast pass as it will save u hours in some lines. At Universal I liked 'The Mummy' ride and 'Jurassic Park' ride.

Thanks for all the responses , sent off a email to both disneyland & universal studios, have already got a response from US & they said I wouldnt have a problem with their rides except maybe the Mummy ride but it has a test seat out front so I dont have to line up for the ride only to find out I wont fit but theres every chance I will fit so will just have to wait until im at the park.

Still waiting to hear from disneyland but yeah going on what alot of you have said & what I have found on the net I should be able to get on the majority of their rides, looks like legroom is more of a issue than size.

Hey Crazynights, firstly congratulations on your upcoming wedding and Honeymoon. I also got married in November and went to Disneyland for the Honeymoon so I hope you enjoy it as much as I did... I have actually been to Disneyland twice, once in 2000 when I got married (November 12th onwards for 2 weeks) and then I went back 2 years ago to take my kids over there (November 21st onwards for two weeks).

Now to get your main question out the way you should be fine.. looking at disneylands website that dont have a maximum weight or height so you should be fine.. It will be up to in regards to maneuverability as to which rides you go on but most rides have (and dont take offence to this comment) disability access, which would require a considerable amount of room to enable easy access so you should be fine mate. I guess you can only judge each ride on its own merits but you should be fine..

But Disneyland itself isnt all about the rides... its an environment all of its own that tends to really capture you and sweep you away into the Magical world (jeez how corny is this)... Its a different world when you step through those gates, even when you step into Anaheim so really absorb it as much as possible. Make sure you watch the fireworks display (you wont miss them), even if your in your hotel room... they are the most unbelievable fireworks you will see... and they happen every night. What will make it even more special is Disneyland will be decked out in thei

...their christmas directions.. so make sure you are in Main street when the Fireworks happen.. something special happens at the end..... ahhh it takes me back...

Be warned.. November contains Thanksgiving, and also a holiday... When I was there the first time I missed the holiday period and Disneyland was pretty empty.. Walk straight onto rides... the second time I went it was packed... Something to prepare yourself for.. Americans are good cuers... so be prepared for long periods standing still (if its busy).. I have never seen waiting areas soooo big.

Anyway thats enough of my Ramblings... Its a magical place, you just gotta let yourself run with it and it will suck you in!

Both Vegas and LA were brilliant. I found Vegas to be one of the better parts of the entire trip, but if you're a passionate non-smoker you will find yourself gagging on smoke as I did... (didn't smoke back then ha.) Hope you have a great time and congratulations

Vegas is great if you are over 21, under and its crap. I been a couple of times, I book a non smoking room, and each time the rooms have reeked of smoke. Also, Casinos offer you coupons for their all you can eat restraunts, usually these coupons offer you very cheep or free meals..............STAY AWAY FROM THE FRIED CHICKEN!!!!. Maybe I should have paid for a decent meal.

Disney Land and Disney World are both fantastic, but be prepared for long cues. if you are staying at a disney hotel, you can enter the park 1 hour before it opens to the rest of the public.

I was 9 and 10 when I went to Vegas (went twice as my Auntie come with us the second time) and still had a fantastic time. Huge game rooms for while your parents are out in the Casino and all the flashing lights etc were still rather amazing. Whether I would have enjoyed it the same if I was 15 or so I am not sure.

I was also 9 when I went to Disneyland (and Universal) and 10 when I went to Disneyworld (and Ebcot Centre, Knots Berry Farm), this was 18-19 years ago so I can't be of much help, but I do agree there were long lines at Disneyland. Especially on Splash Mountain at the time. The ride with the fast moving train was my favourite, I can't remember the name of it now.

I think it's only Hugh Hefner Land you need to worry about size resrtictions but at 6ft3, I think you'll exceed the minimum mate..

In all seriousness. A quick look around found this..

en.allexperts.com/

or for those that don't want to click here's the nutshell version.

48 inches: Rock N Roller Coaster (Studios), Primeval Whirl (Animal Kingdom)

44 inches: Space Mountain (Magic Kingdom), Mission: Space (Epcot), Expedition Everest (Animal Kingdom)

40 inches: Big Thunder Mountain, Splash Mountain, Stitch's Great Escape (all at Magic Kingdom), Test Track (Epcot), Star Tours, Tower of Terror (both at Studios), Dinosaur! (Animal Kingdom)

38 inches: Kali River Rapids (Animal Kingdom)

35 inches: Barnstormer at Goofy's Wiseacre Farm (Magic Kingdom)

The only weight restrictions would be for individuals who cannot adequately lower the safety bar or fasten the restrain

If i have any problems Ill just have to suck the gut in LOL , my weight is close to proportion for my height so I should be ok, from what ive read today it more the short & heavy people who have alot of issues rather than the tall & heavy.
