Wii Software \ Modded wii Question

I know it can play dvds when you add homebrew software with the modding but can it play liek divx movies etc. or am i stuck with regular dvds?

It's Engrish, not English.

Just buy a DVD player that plays DivX.

yeah im looking at it but i want a usb one casue im buying a portable HDD and i was hoping to be able to port it direct but all the dvd players with usb have usb 1.1 and for half my shows the bitrate is too slow

You actually can run divx movies on your wii if its chipped with a wiikey.

You insert the config. disc and in the menu you select media launcher. Then you take out the config disc and insert a a disc that has a divx file on it. Then select boot disc and it will read the disc and play. You won't be able to use a portable HDD though.

Personally i find it very pointless so you may as well just buy a dvd player with Divx. Trust me its much easier and better to do it that way
