Social \ Best HD-TV?

Specs blow even the Pioneer Kuro away (though specs are not everything). Price should be ~$4000 for a 50" model.

I also have decided upon seeing a heap of TV that LCD is the wrong technology at this point in time. They suck at producing black, have poor contrast ratios, not very natural colours and still are not so hot with movement - just watch F1 racing to see proof of that.

PS: Pioneer have announced they will no longer manufacture Plasmas and instead will source them from Matsu****a (parent company of Panasonic).

This is very true.

I personally would never buy any current LCD TV, but other people will swear they prefer them to plasma TV's. It's all horses for courses.

Best thing is to go to a shop and plug in a PS3 and a Blu-Ray player and test the same game or movie. Most reputable shops will let you do that and you can then judge for yourself which model you like best.

lol nice way to rub it on peoples faces LMAO.....

but i've heard LCD TV's are good if in smaller size factor example 32 inch.... but PLasma tend to give out a better quality in a larger scale tv so..... ur 50 inch might not be as good as you think as in quality wise

we own a sony BRAVIA 46" X series FULL HD (1080p) tellie, which came with the promotional PS3 a little time ago. i can tell you that the first time i selected 1080p as display, the detail was amazing.

the colours are very bright and nice, and all can be manipulated within the menus, and the HDTV that channel 7 and 10 are providing these days looks rrreeeeaaalllyyyy gooooooooddd!

of course, you wont get a "black" black with LCDs, and if this freaks you out then LCD probably isnt your cup of tea. im all LCD FTW!!!, but i recommend going to places and checking out the displays. also, if you find a nice tellie on display or you see one you like but the picture is crapola, it could be the distance between the tellie and the receiver, and/or the cable its using.

the difference between composite and component/HDMI is astounding, sepecially on a big TV.
