Well nothing too over the top as each year you will have to beat it. Personally I just think some nice flowers (I think it's best if you pick them yourself from gardens, however I'm not quite sure it's the best time of year for that) and a dinner, perhaps a nice hotel room for the night and a nice breakfast.

Oh 1 year anniversary! now thats sweet!

Remember of course that the thought is always most important.
Obviously it would be hard to do something without a little time put in but hmmmm... Romantic ideas?

A single red rose, her favourite sweets, cooking her a meal, arranging for her to get a massage or pampered... Pamering her yourself...
You could arrange a special event on the weekend, a romantic picnic or a night at a nice hotel.
Even a simple date out to the movies may have appeal if its done with romance in mind... Seeing a girly movie she really wants to see and doing the whole romance thing!

I guess its hard without knowing what she's like!

Well, traditionally, first year gift is 'paper' so I was thinking of creating a scrapbook with 365 reasons why I love her... And decorating it according to her tastes. She's not a flower person; and yeah Magick, that self-pampering thing has crossed my mind.

I'm just gonna get stuck with the scrapbook because I have work at 12pm tomorrow til about 9:30pm... And 365 reasons is lots when you think about it. But I know I'll come up with them..

Well now see there are ways to work around that...
You dont nessesarily need a page for each reason,
You could buy a lovely dry mount photo album, collect some photos from the last year, and add them in, with you know, like 4 things to a page, in nice writing!

Simple can still be beautiful and effective!
Choose a really pretty album or notebook, some gorgeous photos and memories and stickers, and some cool gel pens or coloured pens... Could work out!

If times an issue, theres also the idea of making the album tomorrow and into the weekend and then arranging a special meal or something on the weekend and giving it to her then...

I seriously cannot think of 365 reasons why I'd love any girl (aside maybe my mother, this is only 1 year), that's way too much IMO. Maybe go back on all the great times you've had and also the bad times you have gotten through together etc.

Why not try 12 reasons, 1 for every month ? 365 is a little too much I would suggest if this is a last minute thing.

pampering gets you ten kudos! use moisturiser and experiment with your hands, elbows, what-not. get really hard and dont be afraid to hold back, she will tell u if it hurts, but alot of the time the moisturiser makes you slip off her skin.

i like the album idea, its sweet and she will love you for it.

jewelry is a big bonus, also perfume in one of those gift boxes are great as well.

as for something that will touch her.. im sure ur hands can do that for you

Yeh, I'm the kinda guy that does the subtle massage now and again just for the extra hint that I care here'n'there, and she loves it. So I'm definently going to treat her to a more concerntrated pampering, when possible of course. (She is still in Uni and quite busy herself...)

Otherwise, I'm gonna head out early tomorrow morning and have a look at what is available in stores that I can use for her gift. Thanks for your input everyone!

sorry for the R rated stuff, but what im trying to say is, its the thought that counts. go pik some flowers and put em into a nice litttle bunch with a ribbon, or make her a card, take her out to dinner or even better, cook yourselves a meal. Go for a romantic drive or just spend the night in watching a dvd with lollies and stuff.
