If it was on the news then probably, depending on the circumstances.

If I see on the news that some teens killed themselves because of drink driving/speeding my knee-jerk reaction would be that it served them right. But then I think what a huge waste of life it is and immediately feel sad and sorry for them and their families.

Of course, many people die, and we don't hear about them. But when I do hear someone dies I would most likely be saddened and sorry.

And as for your smartass comment desi, put it this way, you know nothing about the bum and what he has gone through in life to end up in that situation. So, try not to judge him and feel apathetic. Most homeless people have some a mental disorder (e.g. addiction, schizophrenia). So maybe you should count your lucky stars that you have not developed an addiction to drugs, or have schizophrenia, otherwise you could be that bum on the street.

The last I heard it was a suspected drug overdose, as they found a bottle of pills next to his body. Probably won't get confirmed until they do an autopsy.

Feel sorry for the daughter who won't know her father much more than stories and (by the time she grows up) old media records. At the same time she is luckier than some, atleast she will have all that old media stuff to have a record of her fathers life.

I dont understand why people cry & weep about this false idol when real people with more love for their family are dying all the time! I see plenty of people everyday that are dying of real diseases , why dont you all cry for them when they die of heart attacks, strokes, birthing difficulties, etcetera etcetera?

i heard that he wasn't getting enough sleep and before he was saying if he ever got any sleep that he only got 2 hours of it. so perhaps that's why he took the sleeping pills and what happened, happened.

It's a shame but i just feel sorry for his poor daughter if anything.

Agreed. Class film, one of my favourites. Gotta love These Days (song).

From what i've read it was a combination of anit-anxiety pills (possibly because he was 'recovering' from his roll as the Joker, which apparently very straining, and hard 'to get out of'), sleeping pills (he reportedly used a pill that has been known to affect people with respiratory problems, Heath supposedly had pneumonia) and the pneumonia.

If you can make sense out of that, it might clear him of an early assumption of suicide.

I think there's no doubt that he killed himself, just a matter of whether he did it on purpose or whether it was an accident. Let's hope it was an accident, for his daughers sake.

RIP, a fine actor with the potential of becoming one of Australia's greatest icons.
