The only place I played Mario at an arcade was in California at a hotel there. Not really an arcade, had a games room down stairs. Don't think I've seen one in Australia myself. I use to play most of those also, especially Double Dragon. I still remember when Double Dragon 2 come out, that was always packed. Raiden was also a game I loved in the arcades, also Sprint. Hmm what else was there.... I can picture a few, can't think of names. Oh and of course Metal Slug, TMNT's, Simpsons, NBA Jam, Snow Bros (lots of time on this one, use to get free games by kicking the machine door), Slaughter House and Vigilante.

Haven't been to an arcade for a good 8 - 10 years maybe.

Arcades are a novelty for me now. Sometimes when I'm bored, I hit up the arcade on the coast here for a bit of different fun. I think the fun of arcades went out the window with more powerful home consoles and the rise in price just to play a bloody game. Thankfully though, the Timezone I go to here has a package deal for $15 I get 1 hour free games, ticket games and laser tag and dodgems and minigolf(i think).

Yeah, I had a look here - au.gamespot.com/

Edited above post. Might have added a few you use to play to.

Also age is a factor for me. I really couldn't be bothered, this also relates to what you say though Phat. Meaning that it's probably the fact that I couldn't be bothered because I can play at home, or I'm just being lazy

I'm a fan of the Super Mario Kart Arcade Game made by Namco. It's great fun sitting in the kart and playing it

Still prefer the old school games though. I can remember when Street Fighter II first came out in the Arcade, and also the other classics that have already been mentioned (Double Dragon, TMNT, Simpsons etc)

I also remember playing an Arcade Game that had Super Mario Bros, Duck Hunt, and Green Beret on it

The introduction by Namco of new characters such as Pac-Man adds a little more to this great game. I love the bonus level at the end of the cup where you have to manoeuvre around the course in reverse

I was so amazed when I first saw this game in Honolulu in 2006

Not true at all. As I said in my last post there are plenty of arcade games that you can't play at home (without serious expense)
A dedicated driving/flying cabinet (without hydraulics) costs around $15000 and takes up quite a lot of room. Even if you can get the same driving game on console or PC and have a home wheel/pedal setup the experience pails in comparison as home driving wheels don't have the force feedback that arcade machines have where if you drive over a reflector on the road you can feel it through the wheel/pedals like in a real car or if you take a corner and you feel the wheel pulling on your hands with the same force you'd expect in your real car, let alone the hydraulic setups that tilt the whole cabinet.

Try to fit this in your house

Did anyone else play SEGA's "Star Wars Trilogy" that came out about 10 years ago?
I was hooked on that game for ages. Did it ever make an appearance on any consoles?
