I've always liked players that take memory cards, because it makes the possible storage basically infinite. Found one on eBay for less than AU$100, which does MP3s, video, games, radio ripping, voice recording, address book and has a speaker, plus 1GB of flash memory and an SD card slot.

This one here does the same stuff, also for less than AU$100. And it has an ebook reader, which is win.

Dude, I know. What is it, US$499 for the 8GB model? That's almost as much as a PS3. That means that it'll be something like AU$850-900. For a phone, MP3/4 player and web browser? One so distinctive that you'll be the first target of any petty criminal happening by?

They truly are a great device.

The only reason so many have failed is because people are careless. That, and the iPod Video/Nano G1 were not as sturdy as previous models.

My 3rd Gen was running completely stock up untill 15 minutes ago when I changed the battery. It was bought in December of 2003.

It has not skipped a beat.

W/ Currency conversion it ends up 482.23 AUD, which is totally worth it for a somewhat decent PDA phone. I know it doesn;t have the best features out there, but what it does it pretty amazing. 8GB is plenty for a phone, 4gb for music and 4gb for other stuff. My iPod is coming up to it's 4th birthday, and It needs replacing - my phone is faulty and not being replaced under warranty. This is perfect for me.

iPhone FTW.

@desi: Never suggest or buy any player which plays amv or the similer. AMV is there own format. AMV video compressions is horrible considering that in relaity these mp4 players lack processing power to play videos. So they use this special format, what it basically does when you say convert a video on pc lets say 800mb movie and it looks excellent on pc when you convert it to amv it becomes 2.4gb even if you change the size and the quality has little effect.

It will sell for more. The PS3 was marked up by almost AU$275, and I expect similar from Apple, of all manufacturers.
