I used to play runescape, It's a good thing I quit If I hadn't quite I would of never had a wii, and if I didn't quit alot of things that are here now in my life would of never been here I'm glad I quit. There used to be a forum like this but that forum's dead!

I played it for awhile. I got to about level 64, and gave the account to my friend.
In all fairness, it's not a bad game for being free on the net, but it's still pretty lame.

Same here when I played I got up to lvl 63 or 64 then I quit,I guess it was fun at the time but it doe start to get Lame. Once you quit runescape you realise it's just a piece of crap pulling you away from the real world and all social activity.

The reason I believe a lot of people such as yourself dislike RuneScape is because you keep comparing it to completely different games. The only real similarity between RuneScape and MapleStory is that they're both MMORPGs. Otherwise, they're completely different games. RuneScape has a large tree of skills, MapleStory doesn't. RuneScape has PVP, MapleStory doesn't (or at least, last time I checked). MapleStory has platformer gameplay, RuneScape doesn't. MapleStory has a large community of bug abusers, botters and hackers, RuneScape doesn't (although it used to). You're comparing oranges with mandarins; they look similar on the outside, but they're two completely different things.

Adventure Quest is another good example. Instead of parading around (not that you do) screaming "World of Warcraft is better than Adventure Quest", people should actually play it and see that it isn't really an MMORPG. It's more akin to a turn-based RPG like Final Fantasy's combat.

Yes, RuneScape has bad graphics, sound effects and a community consisting largely of pre-pubescent teenagers, but if you put those aside, you have an excellent MMORPG that could easily rival the mainstream titles. RuneScape didn't get one million subscribers, plus millions more free players by being a crappy game.

Sometime in the last two years Jagex added the ability to ignore everyone, or everyone but those on your friend list, although it's a pretty late addition. What you said is absolutely correct, and I believe it's RuneScape's biggest problem right now.
