Wii Hardware \ Will Nintendo Replace My Wiimotes?

Foetoid says:

Just a question i have, my Wiimotes have been playing up recently, one of them seems to have the trigger stuck down (i think from 100's of hours of Downhill Jam) and the other one is worse, it disconnects itself from the wii every few minutes. I know that in the past, Nintendo products came with a lifetime warranty, but i just want to know if anyone here has had much luck getting stuff replaced.

want to know a trick?

type up your wii mote issues on paper, explaining the problem etc. also make note that you do enjoy the product very much blah blah.

then pack up your wii motes and send it back to Nintendo.

when they receive it, they will not dare send back your old stuff. they will send you new ones.

your Wii and accessories are under warranty anyway for at least 12 months.

Are you serious? I would do it too lol. Just mainly wondering if it is worth my time to ring Nintendo and explain the problem to them.

listen, your stuff is still under warranty, it's not like you're trying to scam them.

but before you send it back, just make sure that you have checked everything. for example, does the stuck trigger happen on all your games? maybe try replacing the batteries on the wii mote that frequently disconnects. you never know. just try all that you can before sending them back.

The stuck trigger is constant. You cant use that wii-mote as first player cause when you try to choose something on the main menu, when you press A, it tries to move whatever you clicked on cause the trigger is pressed in. I have also tried a few combinations of batteries on the one that disconnects and nothing works. Good news though, i thought i might ring EB Games before Nintendo and as long as i have the reciept, they will replace it no worries

The EB where i am at always comes through and everyone there is more than friendly. It's the EB Games at the Sunshine Plaze at Maroochydore on the Sunshine Coast (1hr north of Brisbane). They've never let me down, which makes me wonder why i hear so many bad things about other stores.
