mine just never gets anywhere its just says' loading' and that little ball thing spins around and never stops or loads anything. and then i havve to turn the power off to get back into the main wii menu.

Yes i had that problem last night. It was so called connecting for an hour. I got annoyed so i pulled the plug out turned the Wii on again and went to the wii shop channel and it connected in like a minute!

yeah happens to me 9 times out of 10. and the 1/10 it goes to the 'connecting' screen i have to retry a couple of times. In the 4 1/2 months i've had my wii i've only been to the shop channel about 5 times.

It's happened to me a few times, what iv'e noticed is when my has been on standby and i turn it on then go to the shopping channel, weather channel, etc it loads quickley but if iv'e had it off for a few days(red light on not orange) it occasionaly struggles or says connection error when i try any net activity. This happens about 2 out of 10 times.
