2- Format the USB hard Drive to FAT32, maximum 120GB
(Though some website claims that a 300GB hard drive works too)

3- Remove Any SD card form the SD slot

The Wii should detect your USB hard drive as an SD card.

ok, Im not absolutly sure so dont quote me on this but i think the USB ports on the wii wont run any external hardware. I read that somewhere they are a power source and nothing more.

I saw Nintendo in talks with Toshiba to develop a 1TB HDD for the next-gen Nintendo machine for adding GCN and Wii games to the next machine which will be on Digital Distribution. Adding GC games now would defeat the purpose of having a drive that can take both disks on the Wii. We will see the Wii being compatible with external storage devices, but if anything, it will be to add Dreamcast and Saturn games to the mix....especially with the Dreamcast having its production in Japan stopped recently.

If they released a hard-drive, my guess would be it would be an external hard-drive (i.e connecting through the 2 USB Ports via the back of the Wii.

But for now I don't think they need to release one as such, but after a year or too. Some peoples block spaces (this is controlled by virtual memory, correct?) will be running out and may need extra space which is where the hard-drive will come in handy.

I don't think it will come out any time soon though.
