I don’t hate nintendo, I consider the 64 to be the best console I have ever owned. I might buy a wii a year or two from now but its all hype and BS riding on the back of a cube port at the moment.
Nintendo's exclusive content will be as shallow as they think they can get away with, it really doesn’t help "quality" wise when everyone trips over each other to throw their money at console with the worst launch line up in Nintendo’s history. People are endorsing a console that has nothing behind it other than hype and needs to make a three figure profit on the hardware.

The game cube is one of my favourites, as far as Nintendo not having many launch titles, its simply the effect of Wii sports they are waiting for plus Zelda, come jan feb there are stacks of awesome titles coming. If you bought an Xbox 360 a similar thing also happened, not stupid just smart marketing.

I played over 100 xbox games on my brothers Xbox and the only 2 games i played even worth owning include Ninja Gaiden and Fable: Lost Chapters. I can name at least 20 GC games worth owning.

The GC controller is easily the most comfortable of all time. The N64 controller was easily the best for FPS games as the c-buttons worked like the PC's WASD and the analog stick worked like a mouse, but the GC controller is EASILY the most comfortable controller of all time, followed closely by the 360 Controller.

Wot a waste of cash. I would sold you my copy. The Wii version is a higher resolution, proper 16:9, better controls, a new knife attack and all the Ps2 special features. Plus a RRP of $79.95.

But each to their own and yeah globally it DID almost outsell the X-box and that isn't considered a failure so I can't see how the Gamecube was either. It's australia!! Nintendo will always suffer when it comes to game releases, (like anyone remember how rare it was to find Res Evil 2 for the N64) so that hurts the platforms too and down under especially unfortunately the Gamecube really got hurt.

Hey Paper Mario 64 was difficult to get too and Spiderman 64 and Indiana Jones just got canned outright from a PAL Release ever. I know this was a GC Thread I threw those N64 stories in there to illustrate that Nintendo Releases have always been a bit up and down in australia and usually go towards being seen as a failure. I don't rate the N64 or the Gamecube as failures.

The Gamecube had some of the best games around Zelda, RE4, SSB melee, Mario Sunshine so on and yet i cant come up with clasics like that for the Ps2. Well maybe GTA thats about all. The Gamecube was called a kids system i really dont think it was that was just Sony fans trying to impress one another. The Gamecube had Quality not quantity and thats why i still play Cube games today, i dont play Ps2 games.

Oh, in response to the thread, no it wasn't. It had some awesome games that I still hold in very high regard, I love my little purple box!
