The post office will only tell you the expected times. Like 1 - 6 days as mentioned above. It's probably somewhere on www.auspost.com.au. Actually if you do the postage calculator on there it will tell you the estimated time.

It says this......

Expected delivery time: 5 Business days.

That's all the post office will tell you. Doubt it will take that long however. I say it will be to you before or on Friday.

Usually it's delivered by truck, unless it's airmail express. It won't really matter on the size of the package.

Yeah I was thinking that myself actually. Like if you had to drive from WA to QLD then that would never happen. Not too sure about Melbourne. Probably all packages that are from WA are probably delivered by plane I guess.

I believe they also use private couriers, also maybe when a certain truck isn't full they can also get cheaper rates by filling it. Train is also a possibility.
