Manual is about 4-8 seconds faster.

The only place that makes a difference is time trials, 1 vs 1 races, and some of the shorter retro tracks.

Yeah greenbob is the fastest auto player I know. Back in the no-item tournaments he proved that auto isn't such a dud system as you can hug the corners very well.

Auto does downfall on heavy drifting courses (SNES MC3 anybody?) however, but besides that auto gets the thumbs up!

I just prefer manual

i agree with sternzie.
im kicking myself i bought my mate a copy not long after i got mine for his bday. i wish id just given him mine since i havent played it for ages. Lucky it only cost me $20

MK FTW. it has longevity that brawl doesn't IMO

i KNOW ill still be playing kart time to time when the wii is old and the next gen comes in. i cant say that for brawl

I just got Mario Kart Wii again. Looking forward to playing online. What are your friend codes so I can play you guys sometime?

I love Mario Kart Wii Online because there is virtually no lag, even when playing people from overseas! I love how it shows where each person lives exactly also just before you start the game. I usually only verse people from Australia though just to make sure it is lag free.

The only thing I dislike about the game is that when one person disconnects then the whole race ends. Kinda silly if you ask me.

Most of the time it comes up with a message like the race ended early or something. I am pretty sure it comes up with the message because people disconnect.

Room crash or too many d/c's or you d/c'd yourself.

WFC has a tendency of ditching poor connection players and those who followed them. Back when trixx was having issues with his net, I would follow and get d/c'd when he got d/c'd

The is the first I have EVER heard that. One person quits so the room d/c's??? yeah I somehow find that hard to believe.

Well I have no idea why some races end early then. I also do not believe WFC ditches people with poor connections, I have seen many people play on bad connections just fine. There must be another reason as to why some races end early.

Also, does Mario Kart Online show you what your ping is? Or show you if you are lagging or not with a green or red light etc.?

Yes WFC DOES ditch people with bad connections. It guages on some point what your current transfer and traffic is and will decide weather or not you will cause lag issues. and what do you consider a bad connection (512?)

The reason as to why some races end early? Maybe if you read all my post above you would have had your answer. I'll say it again and that's

"Room crash or too many d/c's or you d/c'd yourself"

No Mario Kart does not show you a ping. However as flawless as this game is, it's also slightly an illusion. When we think we are racing live, sometimes the person behind us wins. Why? Lag is one reason but the other reason is that the game tries to keep itself in real time as much as possible.

There will always be time of lag, and unfortunately there is no way of finding this out unless it said you where tenth and came first on the list (cough....lynx

) then you will know your lagging.
