All new graphics cards (like that 8600) are PCI-E. I used to have an AGP-only motherboard and I had to buy a new computer to get a new graphics card. AGP just can't keep up.

I am so getting two of the new Geforce 9000 series when it comes out.

Wow, that must be one full harddrive, lol. Audiosurf's only about 250 meg.

Hey dudes, the Geforce 9600 GT is out. My local has a Palit build for $245 or $289, and an ASUS build for $269.

The 9600 GT is halfway between the 8800GT and 8600GTS, but Tom's Hardware found the average performance of the 9600 to be only an average of 12% below the 8800GT. And when put in SLI, beats a single 8800GT entirely.

BUT. If you're obsessed with performance like a PC gamer should be, the 8800GT is still on top. Given a choice, I'd rather spend an extra $100 to buy the 8800GT with 1GB RAM.

In fact, I think I will tomorrow.

the tpg 150gb plan has its downfall, ill have to set myself up a neat little NAS box soon.
