Wii Hardware \ Should I get Component cables?

I wouldn't fuss to much unless you've got a big ass tv

somehow I think thats him trying to convince himself they are better and worth it, yes they make everything clearer but I doubt you can see further into the distance

Omg get them omg. The difference is significant if you have the TV to support it. Even on a standard Tube TV with component input it makes a big differance. Everything is clearer and sharper, a significant upgrade to standard composite cables. Owning component cables for the Wii and running everything in 480p should be a number 1 priority for all Wii owners who have a component capable TV. I bought the official Nintendo ones and they were worth every cent.

And yeah, for $20 theyre worth it. I wouldnt pay $50 for them though. If you can get them for under $30 then go for it...unless your rich, then just get them.

The ones from Big W are also 3 metres long, whereas most of the others are only 1.8m. Can be handy if your Wii is a fair distance from your telly.

not with the wii though, the best that does is 480p

Just use a standard stereo RCA lead (available anywhere) and get 2 RCA gender changers (from Dick Smith, Jaycar etc.) so that you can join the existing audio plugs from the component cable to the separate stero lead.

True that - the colour palette went from impressive to absolutely mind blowing.
Other games I reckon are worth another look are Geist, Prince of Persia: SoT, Rogue Leader and the always fabulous Mr. F Zero GX ladies and gentlemen. Probably Beyond Good & Evil would rate a mention too but my copy is foolishly out on loan at the mo.

I'm getting another copy of Soul Calibur tomorrow aswell. Here's hoping Ivy's norks will take on even more gravity defying proportions.
