In Konami's pre-Games Convention press conference, the company revealed their plans to extend two franchises to the Wii and DS. The first of these prospective titles is Track and Field International for the DS. This new addition to Konami's old franchise will feature four championship modes, character designs inspired by Marvel Comics for eight characters; as well as a special Konami character, worldwide rankings, tournaments and downloads. The other title, Pro Evolution Soccer 2008, will be a unique addition to its respective football franchise. It is said to offer the same level of realism that the previous titles established for the series, while being totally reworked to make use of the Wii's motion sensetive controls. The game will allow full control over every aspect of the players and their movements both on and off the ball; clever use of the Wiimote and nunchuck will allow players to pull off some fantastic maneuvers. “We are extremely keen to introduce PES to as wide a selection of football fans as possible, and the Wii and its unique abilities are a perfect fit,” said Jon Murphy, Pro Evolution Soccer Team Leader for Konami. “The potential for PES on the format is enormous, and we look forward to a very exciting start to 2008.” Both Track and Field International and Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 will be arriving in the first quarter of 2008
