The Japanese fighting game Tatsunoko Vs Capcom has developed a strong following among the Nintendo hardcore since its initial release despite only being released in Japan. Many fans of the title had expressed strong interest for the game to be translated and released into the Western territory and with plenty of fanfare, Capcom had noticed. Capcom had spoken about this subject many times in the recent past and the company had expressed interest in converting the game for a western release. The problem was there were many legal issues on the Tatsunoko side of things in other territories besides Japan. Tatsunoko has 13 owners in the United States and it was reported to be a massive task for Capcom to persuade them to get on board. It seemed highly unlikely the game would over be released outside of Japan. It seems though that Capcom was able to persuade and receive permission to bring this title into the western market as the latest issue of Nintendo Power confirms that Tatsunoko Vs Capcom will indeed see a western localisation in the United States. Images have surfaced from a feature article of the game that officially states that it will indeed be released into the Western territory. The image can be seen below. Capcom had noted to its fans to stay tuned for more updates on the fighter but it was unknown that this would be the result of that statement. This news will only strengthen the perception to the hardcore audience about the Wii being a core console as more and more third party developers get on board to develop quality games that appeal to the hardcore gamer. It is unknown at this time if other regions in the Western market (Australia, UK etc.) will also see a local release but with confirmation of a release in the US it seems likely. More information will be available when the current Nintendo Power issue hits more homes in the US.
