Nintendo has officially released statistics which reveal the performance of all their key first party properties from 2008. The data has been compiled of figures which reveal the total amount of game units sold worldwide and NOT units shipped. The data below was taken from Nintendo's 2009 fiscal year which began April 1st 2008 and ended April 1 2009: Wii Fit = 16.37 million (18.22 million in total) Mario Kart Wii = 15.4 million Animal Crossing: City Folk = 3.38 million Wii Music = 2.65 million Some of these game sales figures are simply astonishing, especially for games that were only released on one console. Wii Fit and Mario Kart Wii had both toppled the amazing sales of Grand Theft Auto IV which had a monstrous debut on both the PS3 and Xbox 360 respectively. The biggest surprise of all was Wii Music which still managed to sell to a very respectable figure. Nintendo will no doubt look to replicate or improve on these figures with new titles in their forthcoming 2010 fiscal year.
