Videos have been discovered on Youtube that show certain Wii games running on a Nintendo Wii emulator named Dolphin. This emulator is capable of more than just merely running a Wii game regularly as it has been demonstrated to show it upscaling certain games into the 720p High Definition format. It can also anti-alias some games as well. This is no mean feat as the Nintendo Wii console itself is only capable of running games in 480p which is not classified as High Definition. Many Nintendo fans have been disappointed with this hardware restriction as the other competing consoles have full HD as standard. It has been wondered by many what Wii games would look like if they were produced in High Definition without the 480p restriction. Thanks to the Dolphin emulator we are now able to see what Wii games look like running in 720p. Possibly but if you consider how powerful some laptops are these days its possible. But that makes it no less stupid an idea What I don't get is how can these games run at 720p if they're not made to? Where is this dolphin thing pulling the extra pixels from? If they're already on the disc doesn't that mean a Wii HD is actually feasible? I'm sure Nintendo could run the hardware in the current form factor, the only reason Emulators need such powerful rigs is because they're emulators, the actual system itself wouldn't need that kind of grunt.
